Project description:

During this project I worked with an unknown team of 5 students (3 artists – 2 developers).
Fragmentation is a 3rd person puzzle adventure game where the player has to overcome obstacles by controlling 2 playable characters.

Project duration:

5 weeks

Personal work:

• All camera systems: Third person camera, overview camera.
• Loading and displaying of all animations using animation blending
• Loading and displaying all customized models and sounds
• Checkpoint system
• Puzzle ideas and implementation into game

Conclusion:

UDK is an amazing engine to work with although it is hard to get started with it.
The best way we found to get started on this project is by reading any documentation we could find as well as looking into the UnrealEngine itself to get an idea of the hierarchy and structure.
